We use personal information to respond to your enquiry and provide the service you request. Please share only what is needed and keep passwords and payment details out of website forms.

Information we receive

You may give us your name, phone number, email address, device details, fault description and service instructions when you enquire, book, drop off a device or respond to a repair notice. Relevant correspondence, quotes, approvals and service records may be kept with the job.

A device may contain private files or account information. Tell us about access restrictions and data priorities. We discuss necessary access directly rather than requesting passwords in a general website form.

How the information is used

Information is used to contact you, arrange appointments, assess and provide the requested service, confirm approvals, manage collection, prepare business documents and meet applicable legal obligations.

An enquiry or repair notice is not a subscription to marketing. This repairs website does not operate a newsletter signup or customer account. We do not sell personal information.

Website and service providers

The enquiry, drop-off and repair-notice forms use Microsoft Azure to receive and privately save requests, with workshop notifications through Computer Barn’s business email. A drop-off request is not a confirmed appointment. Business email and related service correspondence may be handled through Zoho Mail. These providers process information to deliver their services and may use infrastructure or personnel outside Australia.

The website’s hosting provider also processes ordinary connection and security information, such as IP address, request time and browser information. A directions link opens an external mapping service. External providers have their own privacy terms; we do not claim that all processing stays on a local computer.

Repair information may be shared with a supplier or specialist where needed for an agreed service, or as required by law. We aim to disclose only the relevant information.

Cookies and website measurement

The public repairs website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and actions such as calls, shop links and successful requests. Analytics may use first-party cookies and process ordinary browser and connection information through Google, including outside Australia. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled. Private previews do not load Analytics, and the site honours browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

Our measurement code sends fixed action names and public page addresses, without URL query strings, fragments, entered form details or customer references. Referring addresses are reduced to the referring website. The forms keep only a random request identifier, a one-way payload fingerprint and submission state in session-only storage to help prevent duplicates after a reload, not entered contact or fault details, and never automatically resubmit. External shop and mapping sites have their own measurement practices. No booking widget or map is loaded automatically.

Keeping information appropriately

We take reasonable steps to restrict access to service information and handle it with care. No internet transmission or storage method is perfectly secure. Avoid sending sensitive files, card details or passwords in an initial enquiry.

Records are kept for the service, legitimate business administration and applicable legal or record-keeping requirements. Information that is no longer needed is handled through the relevant retention and disposal process. We do not promise an arbitrary deletion period that could conflict with those requirements.

Access, correction and privacy concerns

Contact Computer Barn if you would like to ask about information held about you, request a correction or raise a privacy concern. We may need to confirm your identity and understand the request before disclosing information.

Email contact@computerbarn.com.au, call 0431 031 336, or write to Computer Barn, 6 Bentons Way, Mickleham VIC 3064. Please explain the concern and the outcome you seek so we can respond meaningfully.
